A "Fearless Girl", ou "garota destemida", é uma das mais icônicas ações publicitárias dos últimos anos. Criada pela agência McCann Nova York para o State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), um fundo de gestão de investimentos norte-americano, a estátua tinha como objetivo chamar a atenção para a diversidade de gênero na liderança corporativa. Acabou se tornando um fenômeno global.

De uma simples garotinha enfrentando o touro de Wall Street, virou símbolo mundial de empoderamento feminino. A iniciativa foi premiada com os troféus mais importantes do Cannes Lions em 2017, o maior prêmio da publicidade mundial (assista ao vídeo no final da matéria).

Na manhã desta quinta-feira (29), entretanto, um susto: ela não estava mais num dos pontos turísticos mais visitados da cidade. No lugar, uma placa com a frase "Fearless Girl está de mudança para a Bolsa de Valores de Nova York. Até que ela esteja lá, represente-a", divulgando também a hashtag #StandForHer –a campanha continua no site da SSGA.

A decisão de mudar a estátua de local já havia sido comunicada em abril deste ano. Segundo a prefeitura da cidade, a posição da estátua atrapalhava o trânsito.

A garotinha deve ser colocada, até o final do ano, em frente ao prédio da New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), sede da principal Bolsa de Valores dos Estados Unidos.

Num primeiro momento, a estátua terá mais espaço, mas não estará mais enfrentando o touro que simboliza o poderio do mercado e do espírito empresarial americano. Talvez não por muito tempo: o prefeito de Nova York já afirmou que a estátua do touro talvez tenha, também, que mudar de lugar.
